7th Grade Foods Class
Ingredients:
- 4 1/2 cups flour (I use whole wheat)
- 3 tbsp. baking powder
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. cream of tartar
- 2 tbsp. sugar (I leave it out)
- 1/2 cup dry milk
- 1 cup shortening (I use coconut oil)
Instructions:
- In a large bowl combine flour, baking powder, salt, cream of tartar, sugar and dry milk
- Using another large bowl sift flour mixture three times.
- Cut in shortening with a pastry blender until mixture looks like coarse crumbs.
- Store in a plastic bag at room temperature.
- This mix can be used to make pancakes or waffles.
